Creighton pres: "premature" to comment

Maybe I am reading too much into this, but I saw an article quoting the president of Creighton. In it, he said it was "premature" to comment on the school joining a new league. Does anyone else see this as interesting? Instead of totally denying it he's almost acknowledging it by stating it was "premature" which indicates that at some point it would happen?

Other than that, it's been no comment, no interviews by President Lannon or our AD Rasmussen. I think that's a pretty good sign. Usually, you hear the usual, "We love being a member of the MVC etc etc...."

So you think they know something they aren't telling anyone?

If Creighton is joining like my source said they will be, then they know already. I think all of the schools know and his Freudian slip of it being premature to discuss is almost an admission of that.

Premature is an interesting choice of words. If my girlfriend asked if I was breaking up with her and I told her it was premature to say anything on that topic, I'm not sure she would like it.

I guess I don't interpret the statement the same way.

He could have been simply saying that nothing has been determined and that while Creighton is in the discussion, nobody has decided anything.

That's the point though. If you're in the discussion and you like how that discussion is going, then you can make that kind of statement.

Creighton knows where they stand in this thing - they probably have the Jesuit Bat Phone thing going on. If it were anything other than a "likely go" situation, you would be hearing about undying love for the MVC.
