If that money is being distributed among all 10 Big East schools starting this year, that is a windfall I hadn't considered when we were talking about the huge money coming from Fox. I tend to think the C7 intend to keep a disproportionate share of the units for themselves although I could be wrong.
It's too bad that Butler, Xavier, and Creighton had to leave theirs behind because that'd be a ton of cash too.

That's 27 units to bring along to the "new" Big East. According to Forbes, each unit is worth $245,514, paid out each year for six years. That's $6.629 million a year from the NCAA on top of the TV money from Fox. It hasn't been divulged how they'll divide that money up, but if they split it 50/50, each team will get $368,271 and change each of the next six years on top of the Fox TV money (plus their half of whatever units they earn themselves).
And that's just the 27 units they're bringing along. Add the five units already accrued by Marquette, Georgetown, Villanova and presumably Butler (depending on if the A-10 gets the unit or the BE does) from this year's tourney, and the dollars go up even higher.
