Is there a tangible benefit to either Creighton or Dayton joining this year rather than next?

As far as basketball success is concerned, Dayton would probably be better off if the Flyers did not join until the 2014-15 season.

The Flyers' best player is senior PG Kevin Dillard, and he will be replaced by two high school seniors who will be freshmen in 2013-14.

Playing in the new Big East in 2013-14 would be a 'baptism of fire' for them.

Personally, I would prefer them to get a season of experience against lesser competition in the A10 before having to face high-major competition in the Big East.

However, if Dayton joins the BE for the 2013-14 season, I'll be quite pleased anyway.

I have a feeling that the Dayton administration would like the additional 3 million in TV revenue than to give their freshman a breather year.

What's with all the extra flashy, unrelated propaganda in Muddy Water's posts?

They wouldn't be re-allocating them. NCAA units belong to the conference and not the individual schools. The reason they got to keep all of their credits is because they are officially still the same conference. I bet you they are getting all of the other schools credits too (hence such the large buyout).

Now, it could be written into the bylaws that a team only gets a cut of credits that are earned only after they are officially in the league, but if they don't it would lead me to believe that whatever the credit cut is, it will be spread out to everyone.

Just a bit of warning, you will see that in every post he makes. If you have a few moments and your eyes haven't bled yet today take a look at the A10 messageboard. Good, good stuff.

If a mod wants to disable some of this nonsense, it'd be fine by me.

I' think that is a no brainer Dayton will jump if given a chance. Same as Xavier, Same as Sienna, Same as Holy Mary Mother of the Poor School of Nursing... etc.. etc.. no school is going to pass up a 3 million a year pay day.

Ha ha. If Richmond had any chance, which they didn't, they just showed why they won't be selected. A total meltdown by the head coach and team to lose a game they had no business losing. Please take Richmond off your silly post.

That was definitely an interesting ending to a game.
