The Delgado train is picking up steam with every game he plays with his new team in Jersey. Here's a look at the last two games (I didn't get to see either) including the huge upset of Roselle Catholic (NJ).

vs. Elizabeth High School (NJ)

The Patrick School, No. 12 in The Star-Ledger Top 20, took the court against Elizabeth on Friday less than 24 hours after a tough loss to No. 5 Linden. While it was sloppy at times, the defending Union County Tournament champions bounced back with the help of a recent transfer. Angel Delgado, the big man who recently transferred from Huntington Prep (W.V.), scored 11 of his game-high 21 points in the fourth quarter to led the Patrick School past Elizabeth, 51-42, in Elizabeth.

Elizabeth never went away, and it was a single-digit game going into the final minutes. But Delgado's interior scoring became too much for the home squad to handle as he had all five of the Patrick School's field goals in the final period. Delgado also finished with 12 rebounds. "It was really good," Delgado said. "I passed the ball, they passed the ball. I got help from Bryce (Aiken '16), to me, one of the best point guards in the country. I think we're going to be really good."

It was the first victory for the Patrick School against a New Jersey team this season, though the squad has topped some quality out-of-state opponents, notably at the Under Armour Holiday Classic in San Diego. But with high aspirations for in-state success, the Patrick School was happy to get its first victory against a New Jersey squad under its belt.

vs. Roselle Catholic (NJ)

Less than a month after losing to Roselle Catholic by 30 points on opening night, the Patrick School flipped the script on the defending champion with a sizable victory of its own. The Patrick School, No. 12 in the Star-Ledger Top 20, earned a 69-53 victory over No. 2 Roselle Catholic, the reigning NJSIAA Tournament of Champions winner, behind 26 points and 13 rebounds from Angel Delgado and 19 points from newcomer Dupree McBrayer at the Investors Games at Kean University in Union.

It's really big," Delgado said. "Roselle Catholic played hard. They played really hard. They're a really good team. But I think in this game, we played harder." The defeat ended Roselle Catholic's winning streak at 13 games, which was the longest active streak in the state. Delgado, the 6-9 Seton Hall-bound senior who recently transferred from Huntington Prep in West Virginia, started scoring early and often. Roselle Catholic's Chris Silva (2015 4* PF) haunted the Patrick School in the paint when the teams first met, but Delgado helped keep him in check while asserting his own interior dominance in the rematch.
