Kentucky signees Trey Lyles (Arsenal Tech) and Devin Booker (Moss Point) will take on Martin, Quentin Snyder & Ballard today.

Kelan Martin had a coming out party at the Marshal County Hoop Fest, dude is a much different & much much better baller than I thought. His best game was the second game but his best highlight was in the first game. Apparently he's lost a lot of weight and is still getting better shape.

The first game:

This game was about as good as a high school game can get. Ballard was down 24-2 out the gate, then took a 7 point lead late in regulation but lost in OT 87-84. UK signee Trey Lyles (game MVP) was too much going off for 30 & 19. UofL commit Quentin Snyder showed up big with 26 pts & 8 rbs, plays more like a combo guard like Shane Larkin. Watch out for 2015 Ballard SG Jalen Perry too, he's going to blow up this year & BE schools will come calling. Martin played a solid game with 16 pts, 9 rbs, 2a, 2 stl and one FEROCIOUS dunk.

@Future150: Kelan Martin has been fantastic in this one. Butler is getting a good one in him.

As good as it looked, it was even better during the game. Ballard was getting clobbered and Martin & his team were just fed up!

The second game:

Kelan was the MVP of this game with 30 pts, 12 rebs, 2a, 1blk, 1 stl & no turnovers. UK commit Devon Booker did go for 40 & Snyder was big time again with 18.

Trying to describe Martin's game is tricky (kinda like a 6-5 Paul Pierce w/o the killer outside shot, yet) so I'll leave it to Future150 & Martin himself. Either way dude is fun to watch.

Kelan Martin, 2014 SF, Ballard:

Speaking of steals, Butler’s staff has to be absolutely giddy about landing Kelan Martin.The wing forward is a swiss army knife who can really rebound and score the ball. His perimeter game has improved greatly and it appears as though he will have little issue with playing the three at the next level. He is quick enough to guard smaller players and strong enough to stick with power forwards as well. Don’t be surprised if he has an immediate impact when he sets foot at Butler next season.
