Rank the 12 schools in value to the new league

Does anyone know what the Olympic Sports bring in the way of $$$ to a league for an NCAA appearance?

Looking at the A-10 schools Olympic Sports invites to the NCAA Dayton and Xavier both had good representations in the post season tournament. Xavier womens bball went several years in a row and were nationally ranked. More recently it was their baseball and mens soccer that went. But Xavier seems to be a lock. So the next best post season record for Olympic Sports is Dayton. Womens bball ranked somewhere in teens and at 14-1 should be a repeat for 4th straight visit to post season. Vball was nationally ranked and went to post season like 7 out of 10, and similar results for womens soccer.

Last year believe it was VCU for womens soccer and LaSalle for womens bball. If Williams comments hold any value then Dayton is the strongest last 10 years in Olympic sports but seems just so so in their mens bball program. St. Louis had a long run of success with both mens and womens soccer in their league before joining the A10. Not sure but think their baseball team was up their too. Creighton is all by itself when it come to baseball. Unbelievable support for their baseball and basketball teams. Haven't had time to check out Creighton nor St. Louis success in their conferences prior to joining A-10.

If Rick M was still coaching St. Louis I think they would be a shoe in. Now its competitive.

So familiar with the names in the A-10 that were big back in the old days. Fordham, LaSalle, and San Francisco (not an A-10 member) to name a few that have fallen far from the ranks.

Sorry if I left anyone out, very limited on time to search all the schools as we are not only trying to find a place to settle down but what state/city is best to near our grand and great grand kids. A lot will depend on where they all decide to go to college as well. For now its Motor home living at its best.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I would prefer we kept this as a consortium of private schools. Give me Xavier, Butler and Creighton and let's reevaluate in a few years.

Doesn't tell us much except trends. They all seem to have had an uptick in the early 2000's, downtick in the mid 2000's and now back on the uptick. VCU is the only one that consistently has got better.

St. John's, Seton Hall, and DePaul are in such talent-laden recruiting fields, their failures on the hardwood are as much to do with the failures of their coaching staffs as anything. Put Butler's success at either of those 3 schools and their stock would go through the rough with local recruits and the media.

I tend to put more value on hardwood performance than market size, simply b/c a team that wins will attract teams. Oregon (in football) is proof of that. Duke (in basketball) is also. Being in a talent-rich recruiting field is key IMO. If you look at NBA players by state of birth, you see that NY, NJ, IL, and IN are very high. I'd like to use NBA players by State they played HS ball in, but that measure isn't available.

What is this? Are you even trying to base this off what you claim you are? Marquette > Xavier, Butler, Dayton (are you kidding me?), VCU (seriously?), DePaul, Seton Hall. The only ones you can legitimately argue in front of Marquette are SJU, Georgetown and Nova. SJU probably brings the most potential value imo.

PC is better than Seton Hall and will be very improved next year without Ricky Ledo and could be very special with him. The Hall struggles financially to compete.

Both Xavier and Butler will be Top 5 long term, in the short term they are arguably top 3 as far as the league's credibility goes
