Would A-10 try to get Creighton, Wichita, Mason?

If these schools aren't invited to the new league I bet the A-10 makes an effort to steal the best remaining schools out of the MVC and CAA to solidify itself. At least that's what I would do.

Doug Elgin will not let you pillage the Missouri Valley Conference. If you get Creighton fine whatever. But good luck getting a second one.

Also isn't George Mason a glorified commuter school? Isn't that beneath all of you trailblazing seven schools?

If X, Dayton and Butler leave, there really is no incentive for WSU and Creighton to leave the Valley I would think.

The Valley wouldn't exist of those two left.

The Valley has been around since like 1910. It will survive. It is a great league and won't want for teams willing to join. It could get a Murray State, ORU, South Dakota St right now if it really wanted.

Zero chance of Creighton going to the A10 to play eastern seaboard schools. The costs would be huge and without a big TV package such as may potentially be available with the C7 it would he cost prohibitive. The A10 is top-heavy and if you skim off the top few teams it is no better than the present MVC.

VCU and Mason would be interesting adds. We could paralyze the mid majors by adding these nine and forming an 18 team league.

A10 - XU, SLU, Dayton, VCU

MVC - Creighton, Wichita State

CAA - George Mason

WCC - St Marys, Gonzaga

That is because the A10 knows that they will be screwed when and if Dayton, X, BU, and SLU leave.

That makes a lot of sense actually. A-10 could add Siena and Niagara maybe?
