There's no problem with anybody and Gonzaga. We all want the ZAGS. We each only have to fly west one time. No big deal. it is Gonzaga that would be severely burdened by having to make the long flights probably 4 times a year not counting the conference tournament. Has anybody heard of a C7 school that wouldn't want the Zags. i have not. They would be a wonderful addition to the conference. i don't understand why any C7 school would have a problem here. Ergo why all the gtown st johns threatening to bolt talk. If anybody can give any info about a C 7 school not wanting the Zags, i'd sure like to know who the school is.

The new conference will be an all sports except football conference, not a men's basketball only conference. It doesn't matter if Gonzaga is willing to fly their softball team to the east coast, it does matter that every other school will have to travel to Spokane for all of their games in non-revenue sports. These games happen during the week during the school year.

I don't think it's an issue for the other teams in the league. Each sport will have to fly to Spokane at most once during a year (some teams every other year). The burden is on Gonzaga as their teams will have to fly to the other teams multiple times each year and their travel will be long. If they are willing to do that, then they should be invited.

Seriously, next time the PAC12 has it's evening game, stay up and watch the entire game. Then, when you get up the next morning to go to work come here and post how you are feeling that morning. Gonzaga would have to play their weekday homes no later than 6 PDT so that it starts at 9 EDT.

I'm not saying that's a deciding factor by itself but three time zones is a bitch.

Unless your name iS Xavier or Butler, I think there is quite a bit of uncertainty.

Guess we'll see but most of the credible sources like Thamel have said Butler, Xavier, Creighton, Dayton and SLU with VCU as an outside chance. The "providence" sources seem convinced that it's the same and said there is no way VCU is getting invited which is pretty much opposite of what you just posted.

Sorry VCU is NOT as appealing for tv people as Creighton. VCU's name is geographically limiting, and they're not even the clear top program in their own town of Richmond. Creighton's name and national appeal is limitless, and right away Creighton will have the entire north central REGION tuning in. Virginia Commonwealth is in an over-saturated market that Georgetown owns and DOES NOT want VCU a part of.

PLEASE!!! No more VCU fans with their drive-bys.

My question remains, somebody on this site said gtown and St johns will bolt if the Zags are not in. Was that a hoax or can it be verified. If it's true, the Zags are in. despite travel burdens.
