You can't drive bypost with stuff like that without giving something credible to chew on.

My contacts come from the AAU circuit that work directly with several Big East schools. If you are asking me to names, then you are buggin out. From time to time I will post stuff that I am hearimg from the circuit. I am certainly not the clown from the Providence site who claim a Major press conference was happening the week he posted that info. I guess we are still waitimg for that famous press conference.

There's nothing shocking about schools making a case for Gonzaga. We know Gonzaga contacted them about joinging and we know if it weren't for location Gonzaga would in all likelihood be an automatic invite. Where do you get that Georgetown and St. John's are to the point where staying associated with the other 5 hinges upon Gonzaga? That's speculation, right? If that were a condition so strong wouldn't it have been settled before the vote to split?

I was making a point about something a poster had mentioned. It's not base on fact or speculation. Perhaps you need to read a few pages before making a commment.

I have read it all. What you're trying to convey gets lost.

Georgetown and St. John's tells the rest of the B5 they want Gonzaga to make the conference stronger. If you guys object we bounce and go some where else.. Any questions? Remember, no St.John's no madison square garden and no NYC market. No Georgetown, no DC market another brand name team to leave. You still think fox is going to dish out big bucks without those two schoola that play in big media markets? If you believe that, than I have a bridge in Brooklyn I wamt to sell you.

Bounce and go somewhere else? Where? Back to the Big East? Ignorance is fun.

I am certainly not as devoted as others to the machinations behind he scenes of the new conference. I am curious that it is accepted at face that Georgetown is one of the major driving forces of the new conference. If that is true then that is a relatively new development. The Post, when the speculation was at a fever pitch that a new conference was forming, reported that Georgetown was very reluctant to leave the Big East. The President of Georgetown had to be convinced to join the other six schools, and now they are the joined with SJU in making decisions, I can see SJU because they have been out in front of this thing from the beginning. Could be true, I am assuming some of you have seen that reported somewhere. The original big east was the brain child of Dave Gavitt of Providence and I bet you that there is someone behind the scenes that is totally off our radar behind the curtain. If it is true that the BE commissioner is putting the final touches on a TV deal, I can understand the dearth of hard news. Do you guys think they will name the new schools b4 they name a new commissioner?

It's still confusing to me, but I ended up with the impression that the Georgetown athletic department was spearheading the split while the the Georgetown administration was dragging their feet.
