Instead of "and the 4 seed is the Big East champion Butler Bulldogs." it's the 4 seed is the Butler Bulldogs that finished 8th in the BigEast12 Gavitt Division.

This comes up periodically and I don't understand it. Every league needs bottom feeders, someone has to finish at the bottom of the league. There are 11 BigEast teams playing a 20 game schedule - 220 games, 110 winners and 110 losers. If you replace DePaul with a "better" team, are you willing to push your school down the BigEast standings to improve the bottom of the league? Nobody is signing up for that. It isn't possible for 75% of the conference to finish 12-8 or better. The math doesn't work.
