As for inking a more competitive media rights contract, the current deal with Fox isn’t up until 2025. But Ackerman said she hopes to start talks with Fox before the official renewal negotiating window starts next February.

“It’s too early to say where that deal will land — and how we adapt to the changing media landscape,” Ackerman said. “Because it’s not the same as it was 10 years ago. There’s players now that didn’t exist. We’re now into a world of streaming.”

A representative from the network was unavailable to comment for this story, but a spokesperson sent the following stats: The men’s regular-season games averaged 779,000 viewers — a tie for the most-watched regular season ever on Fox. The women’s season averaged 285,000 viewers, the most across networks ever.

Worst thing the league could ever do would be to go to a streaming platform.

Maybe Val ordered the Pitino/Cooley moves to boost our next TV contract? The Georgetown games at Providence should get some good ratings!

Definitely great timing, having SJU and Georgetown relevant can only help in the negotiations.

You hear guys like Brando say you need St. John's & Georgetown relevant. Like Ohio State & Michigan in football in the Big Ten and USC in the Pac-12. If that is true, it will be a huge for Val Ackermann in the TV deal.

Some have said and it's true Villanova in 2016 & 18 gave rebirth to the Big East as a power. This year the Big East has 3 teams in the Sweet 16, one of them isn't the regular & tourney champs. (sorry about that  ) and Villanova is not part of it this year.

Tim Brando is about to kick off his 10th year with Fox doing play-by-play for college football and college basketball. He’ll continue to do so through at least 2026 now that he’s signed a contract extension.

I wasn't sure where to put this, so why not here. ACC games now on CW. Wow.

This fall, the ACC will begin airing football and basketball events on the CW Network, a new addition to the league's Saturday broadcast schedule.

The CW has secured the rights to 50 ACC games, beginning Sept. 9 with Pitt's football game against Cincinnati. Thirteen ACC football games will air Saturdays on the CW, which will broadcast 28 ACC men's and women's basketball games throughout December, January and February. The ACC will have men's basketball doubleheaders on the CW every Saturday, and women's basketball doubleheaders on Sunday afternoons.

That could be a rough season as far as viewership goes. Only die hard fans are going to know to look for games there. Obviously it won't be the high profile games either so maybe those are the only fans who would have been watching anyway.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

These games on the CW were RSN games that might have been on your local Bally's Network.

FS1 has surpassed ESPN in cable carriage for the first time ever. After a decade, FS1 is (barely) the most carried sports network in America.

Bad news for Fox that the US women’s national team is laying an egg down under.
