NBA draft

NBA draft is tonight. Marquette's O-Max Prosper and UCONN's Jordan Hawkins will be in the green room. Never would've guessed that Prosper would have become a first round NBA pick but here we are. Good luck to both of them and to other Big East guys tonight.

Five of the first seven picks didn’t play college hoops.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

Colby Jones and Andre Jackson also selected last night.

I have a hard time pretending to be very interested in the NBA draft. It's super cool for the players and fans who are picked, but the pure number of guys who get drafted that I've never heard of or seen play really limits my interest.

Clingan's terrific, but not sure how he's a No. 8 pick after the way big men were treated in this year's draft. Maybe he developed some Victor Wembanyama skills since the season ended?

The "big men" were bigs in college but 6'9" is a face the bucket, small forward in the NBA. Clingan in 7'2", supposedly with a 7'7" wingspan, and moves pretty well. His per 40 minute numbers were 21.7 points, 17.2 rebounds, and 5.6 blocks. Those are absurd. Clearly he needs to work on his shot but you can't teach tall.
