Never in my wildest dreams and nightmares did I ever think I'd dislike a Big East team more than UConn. Wow was I wrong. Georgetown takes the cake. Despicably shady behavior by their school and administration.

The myth that the reconfigured Big East is one big 'ole jolly family is dead. We're no different or better than the football conferences that we like to think we're classier than. If the money is out there, Big East teams will not stay loyal to the league and member schools. At least it's all out there in the open now.

There's no doubt about it, for the foreseeable future we'll have one main rival: the Georgetown Hoyas. URI and UConn won't even be in the conversation. The atmosphere at the AMP next year for the The Return is going to get real ugly. Better keep the tall boy ban for that one.

Not to be insensitive but does anyone know Cooley's buyout? If it is substantial that could at least be a silver lining for PC.
This is my opinion. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

They did during Covid, but I don’t know that they’re continuing that practice any more. Manhattan College fired their coach 2 weeks before the season. Their star guard, Jose Perez transferred to West Virginia, anticipating a waiver of the year of ineligibility in light of the unusual circumstances. But the NCAA balked and wouldn’t grant it. We’ll see what happens in these cases if the players try to follow the coach, but the problem for them is that there is a risk. The NCAA won’t give a decision in advance. So, they have to actually accomplish the transfer and then find out the verdict after the fact.

I think the difference with this and Manhattan is the time it was done. 2 weeks before the season is a lot different animal than way out.

Frankly that should have mad Perez a more sympathetic victim, not less. He got caught in a squabble between the coach and the institution which never should have been resolved as late as it was. It was not his doing to seek a transfer to advance his own interests. He was committed to his school until two other parties changed the conditions under which he’d be playing his senior year. That was very unfair to him and the circumstances were completely beyond his control.

That would be bad if he goes to Georgetown. I feel the pain of PC fans. I would be upset if this happened to Creighton. I didn't think things like this could happen in the league, but I guess money talks!

Yes, but he's got Rick Barnes ties which are big there in Providence from what I've seen today.
