On the Butler board, I don't think there is one person that is really upset about the mass exodus of transfers, and I'm pretty sure there will be a couple more. Would not surprise me at all if Simas is the only holdover from the Jordan era left by the end of the week.

Recruiting high level guys now largely depends on NIL money. Does Butler have a program set up for their players?

All Good Dogs is set up to give them money to volunteer at charitable organizations. Not paying anyone 6 figures though!

I think it will speed up the rebound, liked Chuck and Tate a lot, but this group wasn't a team and things had to change a lot.

Rothstein:

Butler's Manny Bates tells me that he will declare for the 2023 NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility.

Averaged 11.6 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 1.9 BPG this season.

Wants to see what they want him to work on. (Other than getting the shoulder healthy.)

Bates' return would be huge for the Dawgs. They were a completely different team when he was healthy. Beat Kansas State, BYU, StJ and X with him, lost to Georgetown without him.

Any word on Simas?

Buzz is that Luko is staying. But Butler is pretty closed lipped about almost everything. ;)

Motta's going to get it done. This guy made it to 2 Final Fours and an Elite Eight, even though he coached in the Big Ten.

Looks like Manny Bates is out. According to ButlerHoops.com, he is on the east coast working out with Tim Thomas. His academic eligibility is the biggest problem, possibly not maintaining a high enough GPA in grad school.

Gonna be quite the rebuild at BU.
