As far as fans throwing stuff, that was nothing. They handed out blue towels for a charity program the school supports. I get that Mac needed to address it, but it wasn’t really anything.
Still not exactly the epitome of classy. If you look around and you're the only person saying "what we threw at you wasn't even a big deal" then you're still the problem. Not one other instance of another fan base throwing things at opposing benches this year.
I didn’t see anything thrown at the bench. Must’ve missed that. However, the way Shaka acted throughout the game, was a little bit classless too. Not condoning just pointing out his “act” could certainly be taken as inflammatory.

What was it that the coach did to so enrage the fans? Genuinely curious, I was at a crowded bar and had to leave with 7min remaining because I had a volleyball league to play in.

For starters, I like Shaka and am glad he’s in the league. He obviously can coach at a high level.
I think fans see the way he jumps around and acts like a player as somewhat unprofessional. At one point, he was reprimanded by the refs for talking to Trey Alexander when we were inbounding the ball in front of the MU bench. His demonstrative reaction to the game ending while facing the fans was obviously a middle finger - don’t think it could be interpreted any other way. If he reacted like that in front of his bench of with his staff, it’s different. I was on that side of the arena and thought “man, what a jackass”. I imagine if you’re a Marquette fan, you view it differently. Never seen a coach act like that before in 20 years of attending games.
I mean the only difference is we expect coaches to be these stuffy angry guys forgetting that they are actually competitors as well.

I didn’t realize MU’s history of coaching jack-assery
I do think it’s okay to expect more from coaches than players, but in a moment of heated competition, that can be hard to contain.
