SHU gets 1st 2015 commit- Dalton Soffer

6'5" SG Dalton Soffer just signed a NLI for Seton Hall.

He's an unranked 2 star recruit with several mid-major offers and no high major offers aside from Seton Hall. He initially committed to Loyola-Maryland, but recommitted, reportedly because he wanted to challenge himself at a higher level and prove his doubters wrong.

The scouting report on him I that he's a pure shooter. He's lights out from beyond the arc but the criticisms on him are that he's one dimensional, doesn't defend well, and prior to this summer hadn't shown the ability to create his own shot. He caught Kevin Willard's eye in a tournament this summer when he outplayed top 150 Minnesota commit Dupree McBrayer.

With the Pirates expected to have a loaded backcourt for 2015, Soffer isn't expected to see much immediate playing time. It seems Willard brought him in to be a 3-point specialist type role player.
