Huge local pick up. The kid was ranked int he 30s before he got injured.
Beat out Indiana, Maryland, Virginia, NC State, and Pittsburgh. Great to defend the home turf.
Kid is going to be a stud. Would not be surprised if he was a 5 star by the time he matriculates.

Derrickson's team Paul VI (VA) has started off 5-0 and are ranked 4th in the nation by MaxPreps, while MD is a consensus all DMV 1st teamer as a jr. So far this season MD is averaging 15.6 ppg, 7 rpg, 3 apg, 1.5 stl/gm, 1.5 blk/gm.
Preseason Expectations:
"Marcus Derrickson, F, Paul VI, 2015: After a stellar sophomore campaign, Derrickson will look to cement his status as one of the area’s elite players, regardless of class. The Georgetown commit will be looked upon for increased scoring production as Paul VI looks to overcome the absence of Franklin Howard."
Highlights from the game between DMV ranked #1 Paul VI's & #2 St. John's on December 12th in the DMZ Elite Classic, a 71-51 win for MD.
Most Recent Performance:
MD's last game was a 75-59 win at DMV #4 Montrose Christian (DePaul commit 2014 PF Raymond Doby): "Hard Hat winner tonight Marcus Derrickson: 19 points 7 rebounds 3 assists 1 steal 1 block"
Clark Francis, a recruiting analyst for Hoop Scoop, had Derrickson ranked as the No. 36 junior in the nation. That ranking is sure to rise, Francis said. “He should be one of the top 10 or 15 in the country,” Francis said. “He’s a physical specimen and a matchup problem inside. He can go to the perimeter and shoot threes. He’s very deceptive and has a lot of versatility.”
