Does Depaul have a recruiting budget this year?

For the life of me, 5* Cliff Alexander aside, I haven't seen any reports of official, unofficial, in-home, out-house
visits involving any 2014 recruits and the Blue Demons for months. What the heck is going on up there? Isn't Depaul graduating some big time players this year. Why not swing and miss at a few recruits at least, whatever it takes to keep your name in the mix. OP has to be in big trouble if they don't get Alexander for 2014.

That's because the national web sites and recruiting analysts largely ignore us, and with good reason.
The only Top-100 recruit we've reeled in since OP got here was related to member of the coaching staff. I expect that trend to continue.

Some positve news on the Blue Demon local recruiting front from UnderTheEl:
"MT @joehoopsreport 8 players to watch in 2016 & 2017......
First 6 players were at DePaul's Tip-off Party #dpubb"

Technically our 2nd 2014 commitment, including JUCO PF Rashaun Stimage, who everyone I've talked to thinks is a star in the making.
Davis was also considering Rutgers, VCU, Cincinnati, Seton Hall, George Mason, and Virginia Tech. The offer list makes you think he's a nice pickup. Probably not a program-changer, but who knows?
Just a rumor, but I heard someone yesterday suggest that Okafor likely goes to Kansas, and Cliff Alexander would then choose between Illinois and DePaul.

3rd right...you also have Illinois transfer Myke Henry becoming eligible next year. Didn't do much at Illinois but he was a top 50 player coming out of hs in chicago.

Jon Davis just decommitted from DePaul and announced he'll attend Prep School next year.
Until a couple of minutes ago, he was DePaul's highest-rated recruit for 2014.

DePaul just replace Davis with Aaron Simpson for 2014.
He's a SG from Chicago, great scorer, I think was juco for 2 years. He could be a nice compliment in the backcourt to BGJr. From what I've heard, he was a top Chicago HS player but didn't get a lot of big offers, possibly because of his size (he's a little undersized). I think he might have verballed to Detroit Mercy at some point.
Can any Blue Demons here fill us in on Simpson a little...?
