Although currently not a top 150 recruit, SG/SF 6'7 Ronnie Harrell just committed to Creighton. Under the radar, recently grew from 5'10 to 6'7 from freshman to junior year, he has guard skills with forward height. Chose Creighton over Purdue, Kansas State, Arizona State, Washington, DePaul and Washington State. #2 rated by Rivals in the state of Colorado. Also, he is the cousin of Chauncy Billups so he has some good genes. Eric Bossi of Rivals quote "I really, really like this pickup for the Jays. He's one of the bigger "potential" guys out there, especially as a fringe Rivals150 ranked player."

From the Zagsblog article, Ronnie Harrell mentioned Creighton's amazing fanbase, and also said "I feel like I can go there and get a great education"... raved about the Bluejay players and coaches. Mentioned the thrill of getting to play in Madison Square Garden...!
On a side note, Creighton has picked up two recent commits-- one from Texas and the other from Colorado... love to see them winning recruiting battles in their region, especially going head to head with Kansas State for Harrell..

Creighton adding a ton of length and athleticism on the wing this class. Exciting for sure!

Everything I've read indicates that Harrell was a Purdue lean, a top target of Painter and almost committed on his visit. This is a Big East steal from a Big Ten school.
Your geography point is a solid one. I would expect that it will take a couple of years for east coast kids to become more familiar with our program and not be afraid that Omaha is in the middle of a cornfield.

Not so much anymore, at least by ESPN.
"Exciting to hear that Ronnie Harrell (@RonnieHarrell25) was just raised to a 4-star recruit by ESPN! #GoJays"

You know you have arrived as a conference, when underrated recruits instantly get another look by the scouting services when they commit. Great going Creighton!

Same thing happened to James Farr when he committed to Xavier. I can't remember exactly, but it was something like 72 to 88. This is before ESPN reworked their grading system, by the way, as an 88 now is friggin' fantastic.
On a sidenote, ESPN recruiting analysis sucks overall, though I don't mind the exposure of having the (currently) #6 class in the nation.

So far Ronnie Harrell is averaging 15.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 2 apg & 2 stls/gm for MaxPrep's #22 nationally ranked Denver (CO) East. On the team Harrell plays second fiddle to 20 ppg Colorado signee, 4* combo guard Dominique Collier. Yesterday, though, East (6-1) got hammered by Ja'Quan Newton's Neumann-Goretti (PA) in the 1st round of the City of Palms Classic, 90-61. Harrell did lead his team in scoring though with 18 points & 6 rebounds. I haven't seen him play yet but he seems like a great athletic & long compliment to LG3 for CU.
Here's some recent clips of the 6-7 ultra bouncy Harrell. Hard to believe that 3 years ago, he was a 5-11 freshman.
