Wow! What a run by the Pirates! Loved that they took a tough situation and made the most of it. A valuable lesson was learned: You can’t control what happens to you. But you can control how you respond to it. SHU (and Indiana State for that matter) should’ve made the tournament. Anyway, let’s review!

OUT
*Al-Amir Dawes (out of eligibility)
*Jaden Bediako (out of eligibility)
*Dre Davis (transferred to Ole Miss)
*Kadary Richmond (transferred to St John’s)
*Elijah Hutchins-Everett (transferred to James Madison)
*JaQuan Sanders (transferred to Hofstra)
*JaQuan Harris
*Malachi Brown (transferred to Georgia State)
*Arda Özdoğan
*Sada Nganga (transferred to San Jose State)

BACK
*Isaiah Coleman
*Dylan Addae-Wusu

IN
*Jasheem Felton
*Godswill Erheriene
*Assane Mbaye
*Garwey Dual (transfer from Providence)
*Prince Aligbe (transfer from Boston College)
*Scotty Middleton (transfer from Ohio State)
*Gus Yalden (transfer from Wisconsin)
*Chaunce Jenkins (transfer from Old Dominion)
*Zion Harmon (transfer from Bethune Cookman)
*Emmanuel Okorafor (transfer from Louisville)
*Yacine Toumi (transfer from Evansville)

My 0.02
IMO, Shaheen should’ve won coach of the year. These dudes had ZERO expectations. They had a real quiet offseason after a pretty mediocre season last year and they end up finishing 4th in the league and won 25 games. Guys like Richmond and Davis became STUDS. If those 2 guys stick around, SHU will be a SQUAD. The 2 big highlights IMO were a 15 point home win over UConn and of course winning the NIT. How these guys didn’t make the big dance really baffles me. I bet even the committee agrees with me right now hahaha. Still a solid year for the Pirates. If they can keep their core intact and maybe add other good pieces from the portal, they’ll break through to the big dance next year!
UPDATE: Davis entered the portal. At first, I was confused. But then I learned that there’s multiple personal circumstances in why he did that. He’s a dad to a 1 year old daughter and his GF (mom) just finished her collegiate eligibility at St Peter’s. Davis and his GF are both from Indiana and with Davis having 1 more year left, he likely wants to spend it in his home state. Also, I've heard rumors that Richmond may enter the portal. We’ll see…..
UPDATE II: Davis ends up at Ole Miss??? Uhh what?

Unfortunately, the NIL landscape is going to make keeping Richmond and Davis exceedingly difficult. I'll be ecstatic if we can convince one of them to come back and absolutely stunned if we manage to keep both. Already been plenty of rumors of Richmond being tampered with by other schools.

Saw Roberto Aliva from Indiana St went into the transfer portal. After how Halloway was with him after the NIT, wonder if he could get him to come to the Hall.

If he’s going somewhere wouldn’t it be with Shertz to SLU?

Davis is in the portal and Richmond may follow him out the door. Does SHU have weak NIL? Where can I go to see Big East NIL numbers?

From what I've heard, DePaul was the only team in the Big East that spent less than SHU on NIL this past year. Next year should be better, but there are still plenty of teams that can offer guys like Richmond and Davis money that we simply can't compete with.

As for seeing Big East NIL numbers, I doubt you'll find much. Nobody wants their exact NIL budget made public.

With Bediako exhausting his eligibility and Hutchins-Everett hitting the portal, the Pirates desperately need to find a big guy in the portal

Not a Hall guy, but Ole Miss is Chris Beard and $$$ most likely.
