Hey everyone!
I'm excited about our new conference and decided to ask my uncle who happens to serve on the board at Creighton about how the conversations with our new conference were going. He told me that at least the board of Creighton(I have no idea about AD's or President they might not have brought it to the board just yet) has yet to have any communication what so ever with the new conference. He said though that they still fully expect to receive an invite shortly and thought they were waiting tell after the BE tournament to bring it to Creighton. But he said his phone is off vibrate and they can hardly wait for the call.

Just thought it was information this group would be interested in.

If any board member had been told about a "confirmed" change of conference, then there would be no waiting for an announcement. Everyone with inside info would know about it (and there are quite a few). It would be quickly leaked to the media.

Just because the board of directors doesn't know the story, doesn't mean it won't happen. I would, however, suggest that at least one of the board memebers of Marquette has the full scoop.

Saw a couple of Creighton fans in ST Louis wearing Big East shirts. Made me chuckle.

JaKarr Sampson & Co. Think Upset (Lenn Robbins, New York Post - March 13, 2013)

"I’ve said this a thousand times — there’s a part of me that would rather win the Big East Tournament than the NCAA Tournament," Wildcats coach Jay Wright said. "I just enjoy being in New York. I enjoy the buzz in Manhattan, all the alumni that are there. There’s something so special about that."

Special is about to leave the building.

Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and Syracuse are playing in their final Big East tournaments, all headed to the ACC. Connecticut, not here because it failed to meet NCAA academic standards, was left out of the Catholic 7, which split from the league. Rutgers is joining the Big Ten in 2014.

The Big East next season will be comprised of the Catholic 7 plus Butler, Dayton, and Xavier.

I have no doubt that Creighton is in. Take it to the bank.

Creighton's President is on the Marquette board. I can guarantee you he has spoken with them about this. Can they say that publicly though? Of course not.

Just to be clear this was not a public statement I got, it was an actual member of the board I have a relationship with, telling me that as of Sunday the Creighton board was unaware. The president may very well have knowledge but the all important board did not. But I am pretty sure Creighton will join within 30 seconds of being asked.

I do not have any insight into the Creighton Board, but I have worked with other boards. There is nothing to read into the fact that the Creighton board has not had an invite yet. However, the Creighton board may have to have given permission to Creighton's administration to "pursue other Conference options". This is the question I would ask your board member source.

At least publicly, and per reports that have not been ANY official invites to any of the schools, including Butler and Xaxier, the presumed "locks".

IF/when Creighton receives an invite, the board will meet a short time after and vote to approve/disapprove the move.

Lastly, most boards have confidentially agreements, which if violated would threaten one's board position.
