Out of curiosity- who is acting in the capacity a commissioner would? Is it a law firm? A president or group of the presidents? The ADs? Or do they have someone acting in the role of commissioner though there isn't any conference yet? Thanks.

I know they hired a law firm to help them in the transition and there are 2 presidents that took the lead. One is Fr. Shanley from Providence. I can't remember the other one right now. Thinking it might be the Nova President but not sure.

I don't think people understand the political weight of Providence when it comes to this ordeal. The Big East conference offices are in Providence and binding arbitration is Providence as well. I've even read (rumored) that there's a separation agreement that states the 'Big East' name goes to binding arbitration in Providence. Meaning where ever PC goes, the name goes.
Regardless, Providence has some political pull, more so than the other schools. Fr. Shanley taking lead makes perfect sense.

From my understanding different schools have taken different lead roles.
Nova & Georgetown regarding the TV contract. Would surprise me if Providence is leading the separation from the Big East, and Marquette is leading expansion.

It's Providence and another school. I can't remember the other President right now but will find out.
Edit: Providence, Nova, Georgetown and lawyers.

From what I've heard it's Providence, Nova, and G'town, but I wouldn't be surprised if Marquette is also involved, as I recall their president being the one who was strategizing and trying to get everyone focused after the chaos of Cuse and Pitt announcing their departures. Real good guy.
Also, what up Friarlax!?

Always nice to have some more PC posters over here. It seems like everyone on here is from VCU, Richmond and Creighton!
