Jesuit Vow of Poverty??

The C7's greediness of wanting to go to 10 and not 12, which is what Fox OFFERED, is turning into a massive embarassment for the 7... Aresco is poised to go to 12 with CBS or ESPN and KEEP the Big East NAME while the C7 sits on their wallets and stews. St. Johns and Georgetown, your arrogance and sloth have just lost you the BE name, great job.

Why do people assume the BE7 are all Jesuit institutions? Besides, poverty is on the individual, the schools and athletic departments are not people.

Probably referencing this article which states Aresco wants to keep the name and add a 12th member (Tulsa?). He might be doing this to jack up the price the BE7 would have to pay for the name. There is no way MSG will want Aresco's Big East. His Big East has one founding member and a bunch of trash basketball teams, MSG would be empty.

Screw Aresco. It's all just a power play and negotiating tactics. Keep the name and see what good it does.

Look, I'd love to have the Big East name but honestly we shouldn't pay even a dollar for it. If Aresco wants to call his collection of Tulane and ECU and SMU and Houston the Big East fine. The whole world will laugh at them, nobody will take that league seriously as really being the Big East.

It's sort of a win for the BE7 that the Big East even said it wanted to keep its name. Since when does a conference have to say that? Shouldn't it be obvious? The BE7 getting the name is supposed to be the underdog story, maybe they have a pretty good legal case for it.

Calm down. Despite early excitement from fans everything isn't going to happen overnight.
