Big East has a shot at 6 teams and probably will because, well, it's the Big East and that carries some extra weight with it.

St. John's is in free fall mode. There is no way in hell they make the tourney and this is coming from a Johnnies fan. They would have to win their last 6 games to get in. Not happening. They'll end up probably at around 17-13, best case. They don't have 1 win against a top 25 team this season. Their record against Quad 1 teams is bad. They don't deserve to be in. Again the only way I think they deserve it is by rattling off 5 or 6 in a row to end the season. That is the only way.

Why I don't think 6 has a real shot is the schedule. Lots of head to head games meaning someone has to lose.

SH 16-9
@ Creighton, UConn
@ SJ, Butler, Nova
DePaul

Butler: 16-9
Creighton
@ Nova, @ SH, SJ, Xavier
@ DePaul

Providence: 16-9
@ Marq, UConn
@ X, Nova
DePaul, Georgetown

SJ 14-11:
Creighton
SH, @ Butler
@ Georgetown, @ DePaul, Georgetown

Nova: 14-11
@ UConn, Creighton
Butler, @ Providence, @ Seton Hall
Georgetown

Nova and St John's could easily be spoilers. Especially Nova of course. With little chance to make the tourney themselves.

Like I said and predicted, St. John's is toast. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. They have been in free fall mode for about a month now, sadly. They can't play defense to save their lives. It's literally the same script every game. They usually get out to a lead against everyone they play and then blow it in the 2nd half. 10 or 11 new players on this team, no surprise at all.

And what's ironic is they lost several nail biters against Creighton, Marquette twice and UConn where they could have easily won all of those games.

As a Johnnies fan I am not upset at all as Pitino's improvement in Year 2 at EVERY program going back to Providence is incredible. Get ready Big East, the Johnnies are coming and Pitino has been on the mountain top many times.

I had such little expectations in Year 1, love seeing him assemble the pieces and next year is going to be FUN. I also love his post-game pressers, no one keeps it real like him. He breaks it down like very few can.

Also Shaheen Holloway deserves major props. He's the real deal. Seton Hall is going to the tourney again most likely. He can flat out coach.

Here's my updated odds:
SH 17-9
@ Creighton, UConn
Butler, Nova
DePaul
85%

Providence 17-9
@ Marquette, UConn
@ Xavier, Villanova
@ Georgetown
70%

Butler 16-11
@ SH, SJ, Xavier
@ DePaul
50%

Villanova 15-11
@ UConn, Creighton
@ Providence, @ SH
Georgetown
30%

St John's 14-12
Creighton
@ Butler
Georgetown x2, @ DePaul
5%

I might be too low on Providence.

Interesting from Dave- the guy from bracketville-
Butler has lost 4 of 5, dropping them to 9-11 vs. the Top 3 Quadrants. As @madeformarch noted, only 5 teams in the NET era have received an at-large bid with a losing Q1-3 record. And none of the 5 were more than one game under .500 in Quads 1-3. Work to do.

I think Providence pretty close to a lock right now.
