Post mortem:
We've been playing like sh-t recently, last couple of weeks. Sometimes it's good to just get completely crushed to be able to re-focus and re-set everything. I'm going to take that approach.

Last 4 games, against UConn, Georgetown (to a lesser degree), Xavier and The Hall-- it's not just the layup drills that we've been allowing, it's our normal halfcourt defense.

Seems like X and Seton Hall have shot 80% from the floor. After our win against the Hoyas i mentioned how it looked like Georgetown had some great shooters. This is a scary pattern heading to MSG.

Anyway, i'm going for a walk on the beach, lol.

I'll have to look at it deeper, but tough to think youre not deserving of a bid.

This is only Seton Hall's second win in ten tries against a top 5 team in the conference and they also got swept by Villanova. Credit to them for not losing against any teams below them, but they lost a lot against teams above them.

That was shocking. PC looked sort of disinterested and just didn't compete very hard from what I saw. Credit to Sha and the Pirates. AMP is a tough place to win and I can't recall ever seeing a Cooley team get punked like that at home before.

I'm bringing this up because after watching 4 months of college hoops (not just today's dominance), Seton Hall is absolutely deserving of an NCAA bid.

There are 360+ teams in D-1. Go to 96, which helps the Big East cuz each year we have bubble teams. Have a couple of play-in rounds to get to 64.

It can be done in a cool way and fair way without hurting the top teams. I'll post sometime this weekend maybe.

68 is perfect, but big picture, I do think it's unhealthy to have 36 at-large bids (less than 10%) in an environment where the vast majority of fanbases around college basketball demand tournament bids. It's hard to tell the fans to lower expectations. I don't know what the right number is, but the sport is probably better off with an expanded tournament field.

96 wouldn't help the BE much as you think, IMO. A lot of extra bids would get gobbled up by low/mid major teams.

Wild St. John's/Marquette ending. Johnnie's hit some incredible threes (including end of half, which was a 3/4 courter). Lucky to survive. If that went OT, I don't think we win.

They literally missed a single free throw at the end that would have tied it. Just insane. It was a ten point game with 29 seconds left! I missed the game but I'm guessing some Marquette fans lost years of their life.

Marquette wanted a taste of some B10 magic the past couple of weeks.

Nova needs some of that B10 magic right now I'd say.

Villanova has been coming on strong, but UConn was just an unfortunate last team of the season for them to play. UConn has been really good lately. I find it funny how you can sort of bookend their struggles with the Xavier losses (just a team they match up with poorly when Xavier has Freemantle). The first loss broke their perfect record, and the second loss at home capped off a miserable middle of the conference slate. Since then, their only loss has been a 3-point defeat on the road against Creighton, which is no shame.

What the hell, Nova? Where was this free throw shooting on Tuesday?
