I honestly don't read too much into that yet. Having ranked teams after OOC play is over means far more.

I'd say it's great news for Creighton where they're starting. It's all in their control right now.

What Stever said...here is the preseason poll from a year ago...again, only 2 teams ranked (Nova #4 and UConn #24). But 6 made the NCAAT.

UConn, Xavier, Seton Hall, and Butler all have chances for some significant OOC dubs to grab national attention.

I think it's neat that the women are starting from a similar spot with UCONN, Creighton, Nova, and DePaul.

2 teams in the preseason is actually pretty standard for the Big East. I've done posts before showing that the Big East has outperformed expectations every year since realignment.

2020-21 preseason:
#3 Villanova
#11 Creighton

2019-20 preseason:

If UConn (#27) were a couple slots higher then this would be one of our better preseason polls, but as it stands it's average. Plus, as Stever mentioned the preseason polls don't mean much. Have to play the games before these numbers have any relevance.
