NET vs RPI

I know people complain about the NET, but my goodness, Big East should be thankful for it this year....
UConn 3 NET 11 RPI
SH 61 NET 68 RPI
SJ 44 NET 81 RPI
DeP 320 NET 289 RPI
But 62 NET 86 RPI
X 64 NET 92 RPI
Geo 198 NET 248 RPI
Cre 11 NET 28 RPI
Nova 38 NET 82 RPI
PC 55 NET 71 RPI
Marq 12 NET 14 RPI

Only DePaul better. With 7 teams at least 10 spots better.
avg NET 78.9 avg RPI 97.3

and it's spots that matter too. road games at St John's, Butler, Xavier, and Nova would be Q2 games instead of Q1 games. And Providence would be really close to Q2 now as well.

Thanks Stever, this is helpful.

Do you have time to post the ACC's numbers? That's where i'm the most suspicious, lol.

I'm also super suspicious of Seth Greenberg apparently tossing out the idea of a Big East/ ACC merger. No way does someone as dull as Greenberg, whose lips are superglued to ESPN-ACC asses, send up that trial balloon without instructions from ESPN.

so better in NET but by 14 points instead of almost 20 points.

So revisiting this. Thank goodness RPI is gone this year for the league:
UConn 2 vs 3 RPI
Creighton 11 vs 26 RPI
Marquette 13 vs 15 RPI
St John's 32 vs 71 RPI
Villanova 41 vs 94 RPI
Providence 57 vs 76 RPI
Xavier 64 vs 99 RPI
Seton Hall 67 vs 79 RPI
Butler 68 vs 109 RPI
Georgetown 205 vs 277 RPI
DePaul 320 vs 309 RPI

all the road games with Nova, Providence, Xavier, Seton Hall, and Butler would have all been Q2 instead of Q1 games. St John's, Seton Hall, and Providence would all lose 2 Q1 wins.

RPI might be gone but it appears that KPI is very close to RPI and the Mountain West performed very well in KPI.
