Someone had to get DePaul. I'm sure the thought was that Georgetown would be good for viewership no matter who they played.

Yes, agree that it is a great job to schedule as they did. Xavier, Butler and Creighton should be rocking on NYE. Only one concern, though... Winter break? Will any students be around?

Should we commence with the trash talking... can't wait for my Wildcats to come into Hinkle and give the Bulldogs a lesson in Big East hoops. :P

Students or not, I guarantee the Century Link Center will have over 18,500 at that game.

Why wait? The game's only 6 months away after all...

For instance, what is the most valuable asset on Butler's sideline? Brad Stevens' mind. The most valuable asset on Villanova's? Jay Wright's suit. ;)

Hoping for a great game. Butler's going to be young and may have some trouble scoring at times this year so it will likely be somewhat of a rebuilding year for them.

Hoping Butler will be able to fill up Hinkle even without the students on campus. Gonzaga atmosphere would be welcomed.

That's one of the biggest reasons against the 18 game schedule... more conference games in winter break without students... potentially could hurt homecourt advantage. Most schools like the 16 game so they can run a few buy games in that time period. But it is what it is.

My first reaction was not a noon start, but looking at the big picture, X gets to host the first game of the Big East. Can't complain about that.

No Worries, the Cintas Center will be packed!

I hope Raftery and Johnson do the opening game at Cintas.

After that they could wander over the Indy and be there in time to do the Butler game.
...he went up late, and I was already up there.

The big game will be Marquette at Creighton, so I'm equally hoping we see them in Omaha.
Nebraska by birth, Creighton by choice.

I have a feeling they will start the day in Cincy and go to Omaha for the bookend games.

Which bowl games are played on Dec 31? Trying to figure out what our TV competition looks like that day.
