Add Dayton and VCU

Jaxalum, that was awesome. I loved everything about that. And for what its worth if they could ever find an Eastern private school worth adding (they cant) then the midwestern school who will be added will be St Louis. So while I understand why this discussion pisses you off,though I don't think anyone meant it that way, its a moot point. And as a PC fan I want to see Uconn rot, letting PC become THE program in the Northeast.

Jax, this thread was started by a Xavier fan, asking that Dayton be added. The other 9 schools here are just responding to his original post. I really know nothing about the XU-Dayton relationship other than what i read here basically. I think everyone understands that Xavier gets veto rights over Dayton. Also, if X approved of Dayton i think the other 9 of us would be fine with the Flyers, but to me again, yes Xavier holds the key here.

I was always under the impression that when Dayton was applying for A10 membership, Xavier was one of the ones that helped facilitate their admittance. This also occurred during a prolonged down period for UD bnasketball, when they didn't have a whole lot to offer. It also coincided with what became a golden age for Xavier basketball, as the program elevated to a whole other level I agree with Billyjack that Xavier should have veto rights when it comes to Dayton, and I understand that many Xavier fans want no part of Dayton being in the conference. But I'm not convinced that Xavier administrators, given the final say, would veto Dayton being admitted one day.

Xavier fans can probably tell us what it's like being in VCU's shoes. This is a non-issue.

But I have to say, LSU..... I want to see VCU make the right hire and continue to be successful for a few years.

Leaving for an LSU is much different than an Ohio State or Arizona.

X Admin. would consult with Mack, and that would be the end of it.

I really don't see UD as a top 5 next yr. in their conf. after losing 4 seniors. Rebuilding project.

You're right. Maybe Wade is in a hurry. Maybe he didn't get along with their AD, which would be a huge red flag. Either way, VCU is in the "wait and see how they do" list with St. Louis IMO. The list is awfully thin now... like just uconn. lol
