I'm kind of 50/50 on this. How was the crowd when they lost to NC State a few years ago? I'd think enough Xavier fans would make it close to a neutral court atmosphere.

I was there. Dayton fans were cheering against Xavier. Tickets for X fans were not plentiful. Bad situation.
Maybe now that time has passed it would be different.

That's interesting. Are you suggesting foul play by the host school? Maybe the sudden nature of the First Four scheduling allows them to hoard most of the tickets?
We are a resale marketplace, not the University of Dayton Arena box office or venue. Ticket prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by, operated by, or affiliated with University of Dayton Arena.

BEwannabe wrote:Xavier to Dayton is bull crap! The tournament cmt figures things out all the time for what they want to do. A few years ago they made UD a 4 seed so ND could play in Indianapolis as a 5 seed when just the opposite should've happened.
But as far as the fans go in Dayton next week. The hecklers for X's open practice were 3-4 UD students. There is an above the fold front page news story! Let's skip class and go heckle X and make national news!
The crowd in Dayton next week is some season ticket holders but a lot of seats are First Four event sponsors. The First Four happens in Dayton because the community supports the event and while I'm not sure how many major corporate sponsors there are there is more than just 1 or 2 so they all have tickets in their corporate deal. So there are no students, some season ticket holders, corporate sponsor ticket holders, general admission and team allotments and then I think 500-1000 tickets for the airmen stationed at Wright Patterson Airbase which is basically in UD's backyard.
So it's not a typical UD crowd, now I will tell you somehow versus Boise the Flyer Faithful found tickets at the last minute because that place was rocking like few times in its history but the Flyer Faithful aren't going out of their way to buy tickets to watch Xavier. That's just a ridiculous notion.
But the thought of X having to travel up I75 to play in the UD Arena is just not right from a preparation standpoint. Why should X even have to consider what reaction they'll get in Dayton. When Michigan steps on the field at Ohio Stadium they get booed and the Wolverines get booed in Dayton as well, it's just how it is. If X plays in Dayton next week, without hesitation I will tell you when they enter the court from their tunnel they'll be booed. But that's probably the extent of it except when Chris Mack is introduced, and Chris knows he'll draw some boos.
