There is a Facebook video highlights post of Xavier's win over Nova at the Cintas Center last year. I only bring that up because MYLES DAVIS scored 16 points and had a few nice assists in that game. Unbelievable what transpired with him.

As they say - - "next man up." So far, so good with that. But I suspect the gents in the white AND blue jerseys are going to be a tad tired by around 4:45 tomorrow.

So I was just lurking on VU hoops in the comment section for the X and Nova game tomorrow. Well, word their is Reynolds is out for a few weeks. I know he isnt a big scorer, but I think this helps X significantly, as I think Gaston, Gates and Jones have been playing solid. Has anyone from Nova heard about J.Reynolds being out for tomorrows match up against X? Thanks in advance.

Official word is D. Reynolds is out for today's game. "Should" give Xavier an advantage inside. We'll see if Xavier takes advantage of it. X needs to feed Jones and Gaston and see if Nova can defend without fouling.

Xavier is a good rebounding team, best in the BE, and this could be a key factor today.

I think it would be a mistake for X to try to be something they are not. Their bigs are not their strength, their wings are. If Mack tries to force the ball inside, I think Nova would welcome that. I more concerned with the long term effects of the other 6 players wearing down today and the rest of the year. Think they'll need to get out to a lead and hold on if they hope to come away with a W.

I'd probably say Nova as a 1 seed obviously.

the others will be very telling as to how this committee will be....
Creighton- 17 RPI 24 KP
Butler- 8 RPI 23 KP
Xavier- 12 RPI 29 KP

It's possible none of the 3 are top 4 seeds if they are looking heavily at advanced metrics. The more they use the RPI the better it is for the BE teams(even Nova who is #5 in KP).

Xavier definitely outside. If I had to bet, Butler in Creighton out.

Shocking to me how poorly Seton Hall played at the end of the first half. Johnnies lead by 10 at the break.

Maybe it's because the Johnnies are playing really well? Owens having a great game. They are confusing Delgado with double teams and blocking lots of shots.

No disrespect intended to SJU. Ponds and Lovett are great. However, Seton Hall knows that they are on the bubble and I would expect a better effort.

Yes, but Jones scored 16 agaisnt Creighton, and was guarded by Justin Patton. Rashid Gaston is capable of scoring 12-16 points too. I think Xavier should feed the ball to the post and see if Villanova, with a height disadvantage, can defend without fouling. Should be a good game.
