I've been more supportive of Kevin Willard than most SHU fans, but after this latest embarrassment you can plant me firmly in the camp that wants him fired. There's no way a team this talented should be this bad.

Xavier's problem is lack of quality wins. Top two wins are current bottom feeders in the ACC, Clemson, right now on the right side of the bubble, and Wake Forest, a team likely to not make the NCAA as they are 1-7 against top 100. Georgetown is coming to town, so an easy W is in the offing, although it won't help the resume.

Nice win, great game by Ellison we need him to be half that good every game. Garret JR is a punk who gets away with elbowing and pushing off every damn game. Sick of it. He never learns. Would be nice to see wins over those not named DePaul 2/3 Big East wins vs. them. At least we are still better than DePaul.

Ellison was a pleasant surprise today. When he lets the game come to him, and doesn't force things, he can be effective. I'm starting to come around on him, and appreciate him more now than I did earlier in the year. It was also encouraging to see them win a game where both Ponds and Lovett weren't at their best.

I love the effort Owens gives you, he's not the most polished player, but you can't question his heart. And finally, I get tired of saying it, but whar's the deal with Ahmed? Two minutes to go in the game, and instead of running clock, as soon as he touches the ball he dribbles right into a double team and hoists up some low percentage shot. The refs bailed him out from numerous wild shots today, by blowing the whistle. That guy's got to learn to take the open shot when he has it, but stop forcing things. It seems he's always determined to get his shot off, without regard to there being an open teammate or if he's taking a ridiculously low percentage shot.

Still a long way to go, but I think there's a reasonable chance they get two or three more wins in conference play.

Needs to be said...what WILL it take to fire JTIII? A Sandusky type scandal? I mean geez G'Town has played like a mid major the last few yrs. 2007 seems like 50 yrs ago.

When this league was formed I was thinking how lucky Xavier would be to win against them...4 years later it's an expected win.

Not to pile on but that Georgetown effort was so completely below the legacy of that program. C'mon JT3. Figure it the F out or move on.
