And no, Cooley is clearly no John Wooden, I still stand by my statement that no team coached by him will finish in last place. Guys just a winner and it rubs off on his teams. It's no use arguing, 4 years straight now, you still don't learn. To be honest I think they will finish in 6th or 7th place, which may be the majority of the boards' predictions as well, but I feel as though we have different views on how they get there. I think most of the board that feels Providence will finish in 7th believes it'll happen by getting like 6 wins against teams 8/9/10 and not being able to compete with the top. I feel like this team will be able to compete with every team in the conference, and their play will answer a lot of your questions about them rather quickly IMO. I think they'll be the type of team that goes like 17-15, but were like 9 points combined from being 21-11.

Couldn't agree more. Last year was a great learning experience for Cartwright. He has a tendency to force plays but I think he will be more in control this year. Having said that his aggressiveness does lead to some spectacular plays. I could see him struggling early with the pressure of stepping into Dunn's shoes but he will settle in nicely. Clearly Bentil and Dunn are irreplaceable but as crazy as it sounds I think Bullock and Fazekas will feel more comfortable on the floor. They wont't get the clean looks that Dunn provided for them but there were times last year when they looked unsure because they felt like they needed to get the ball to Dunn and Bentil instead of being aggressive. Will they be able to hang with the top teams in the conference for 40 minutes most likely not but I think they will be a tough out. Nobody circles the wagons like the Providence Friars!!! (that's how the saying goes right?)

Va Tech #36- 9 seed
teams left....
ACC 7

AAC 3
A10, SEC, WCC 2 ea

1 thing really good about the projection now- no Big East team in the tourney within 10 spots of the cut line.

Yo FriarMe35,
Nice post.

Here's an assist. Actually the saying goes:

"Nobody plays pivot in the circle jerk like 'Nova/Xavier/Providence Friars (either of the 3 is a great choice)!"

...always ready to lend an assist when needed. gtmo

Those 3 schools are the 3 schools that have made the NCAA each year since the reconfiguration. Nice Job!

So for Big East so far-
#35 Butler 9 seed
#50 Georgetown- 3rd team out
#62 Providence
#69 Marquette

Pretty solid so far I would say. 3 teams solidly in the NIT(with Georgetown being right on the bubble for NCAA). And I'd argue that St John's should probably have been on the list really lower in the 120-140 range...

I'd guess next should be Seton Hall here in the next 5-10 picks you would think.
