It's actually only 5 teams left getting in the NIT. Got 21 teams in the tourney already. 11 auto bids left that's the 32 auto bids, and then 36 at large teams. 11+32=47.

And like I've said years past- I view the last 3-4 teams and the next 13-14 teams- as being pretty darn close to equal. With teams like this- 1-2 games will make or break them.

There are 19 spots filled out of 64 available. That leaves 45 spots with 52 teams still unnamed, so this means that 7 of the remaining 52 will be NIT bound. Not that this really matters.

There are 21 spots filled out of the 68 available. You aren't taking into account the NCAA tourney expansion.

Wowwwwww. I don't agree with this at all. They return a ton of talent, and they bring in a really strong recruiting class.

I guess they are expecting NC State to underachieve again.

from their projection of NC State- and makes sense-
This team has depth and talent across the board. In most positions North Carolina State is at least two deep. It may take some time for Smith, Yurtseven and the rest of the freshmen to come around, but they are extremely talented and this team has plenty of experience to help the youngsters through their growing pains. However, by then, the ACC will be in full swing and no matter how much talent there is, winning consistently in the ACC will be extremely difficult. The Wolfpack will need to get off to a fast start if they want to reach the NCAA Tournament because there will certainly be some rough patches once again in conference play.
I think part of it is their OOC schedule isn't good. 2 good games with Creighton and Illinois. Maybe Ole Miss if they can beat Creighton. But that's it. they get UNC, Wake, Miami, and Ga Tech 2x. So not too bad.

so comparing to Lunardi:
ACC 9
B10 8
B12 6+1
P12 5
BE 5+1
SEC 4+1
AAC 3
A10 3
WCC 2
the 3 +1 are for Lunardi's 1st 3 teams out- since that's where we are right now....

So
ACC 2 more with CSM
B10 1 fewer with CSM
B12 2 fewer with CSM
P12 1 more with CSM
BE even with CSM
SEC 1 fewer with CSM
A10 1 more with CSM
AAC even with CSM
WCC even with CSM

Georgetown checks in at #50, and predicted to be NIT bound. That leaves 5 teams from the Big East, and a good chance that all 5 will be predicted to be NCAA tournament teams.
Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.
