Bill Russell played for USF, Lew Alcindor and Bill Walton played for UCLA, Wilt Chamberlain played for Kansas, Oscar Robertson played for Cincy and Patrick Ewing played for Georgetown. Who is this best college basketball player you are referring to?

Also Dunn played for 3 years. 25 games in '12-'13, 4 in '13-14, 33 in '14-'15 and 33 in '15-'16. Looks like you are clearly more unfamiliar with the history of Providence basketball than I am.

Are we really including Wilt in the same sentence with those other guys? Nothing in his record distinguishes him as an all time great college player.

New Mexico shows up at #55. 2nd in the MWC(meaning they're projecting them to be a 1 bid conference again). 8th team out of the tourney.

imo the MWC has gone into the tank more than any conference. Where they were 3-4 years ago(which I think a lot was fluff scheduling with those D2 games). And really not just basketball- but football isn't as good as it used to be either.

Adding San Jose State damaged them in both sports..

yeah but it's more than that. Some programs have dropped(New Mexico), and others just weren't that good.

Iowa shows up #54. 7th team out of the tournament. 8th in Big Ten.

P12, B12, BE 6 ea
SEC, A 10, AAC 4 ea
WCC 2

5-8 out of tournament(or next 4 out)- ,,Iowa, New Mexico

so what do folks think- will Big East get 6?

Iowa in at 54, 8th in the BIG. They lose four starters, including their point guard and center, so that's pretty generous.

Texas Tech shows up at #53. 6th team out of the tournament, 6th Big 12

ACC 12
B10 7
P12, BE 6 ea
B12 5
SEC, A 10, AAC 4 ea
WCC 2
MWC, MVC 1 ea

5-8 out of tournament(or next 4 out)- ,Texas Tech,Iowa, New Mexico

So Big 12 kind of down this year by this projection. From what I've seen, maybe a bit more top heavy than in recent years.

Only 7 teams left who are NIT bound. With the ACC still having 12 teams in the mix, I have to believe at least half of the NIT spots will come from that league. I'm thinking only 1 from the 6 Big East teams still in will be relegated to the NIT, and therefore we will get 5 teams in the Dance.
Xavier will surprise. Never count them out of the Dance.

It's actually only 5 teams left getting in the NIT. Got 21 teams in the tourney already. 11 auto bids left that's the 32 auto bids, and then 36 at large teams. 11+32=47.

And like I've said years past- I view the last 3-4 teams and the next 13-14 teams- as being pretty darn close to equal. With teams like this- 1-2 games will make or break them.

There are 19 spots filled out of 64 available. That leaves 45 spots with 52 teams still unnamed, so this means that 7 of the remaining 52 will be NIT bound. Not that this really matters.
