The thing is going to be is how people will spin the numbers for Undisputed. The fact is those numbers last week are much higher in that timeslot for anything they had before on FS1. The goal has to be on Monday (today) for a jump with the NFL now started and a DH FOX pump in promos. For the twitter clowns comparing it to what ESPN does is a joke and doesn't understand the real picture.

Another view: we have it as a .10 in time period where we did .02 last year on same day/time.

I also saw opinion shows appeal to Horowitz for another reason: they’re cheaper. Fox’s new studio shows cost less than $10 million a year, according to two people familiar with the matter, with most of that going to talent like Bayless and Colin Cowherd. By comparison, in its first year, Fox Sports 1 spent more than $20 million apiece on “Fox Sports Live” and “Crowd Goes Wild,” said the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private information.

Pretty much was going to chime in to say basically the same thing.

I'm no fan of Bayless and ultimately think that Horowitz doing ESPN-lite daytime programming doesn't really move the needle dramatically the way people are hoping. But yes, believe it or not, it is cheaper.

People point to the big salaries and ask how that's possible - basically, it's cheaper paying huge money to personalities than buying the rights to highlights. If Fox Sports has to pay for separate deals with the NFL, NBA, and college conferences they don't hold any rights for... well, that money adds up quickly.

Friday's undisputed show got 90k, which feels a bit low. would have thought a bit higher coming off the NFL opener, along with everything from the Cam Newton hits.

Today's number should be really interesting...

so looking at Saturday numbers....
Oklahoma St/Central Michigan got 519k
SMU/Baylor got 668k
Texas Tech/Arizona St got 870k (beat the doors off of Wash St/Boise late game on ESPN2- that game drew only 684k viewers). And 18-49 demo was even more- TT/ASU 524k, WSU/BSU 290k. Still behind the UVA/Oregon game on ESPN which drew 1.579 m viewers, with 779k 18-49 viewers.

I'd say all in all pretty promising. coinciding with last weekend, Fox has to be thrilled with the start.
