Rysheed Jordan and Brandon Austin, top talents from philly. But both criminals. As these incidents keep happening it just makes what Jay Wright is able to do more impressive. He is excellent at recognizing bad apples when he sees them.

SJUBBALL has it right. I said to my friends who are SJU fans that Jay Wright laid off Jordan for a reason but they chalked it up to sour grapes. The truth was there was no reason for sour grapes. Jay saw the writing on the wall and knew it wasn't going to be a fit and decided not to recruit him any longer than he did. I understand Lavin was doing what he had to do to build a program and save his job, but there were red flags everywhere with this kid.

It is sad because if RJ stayed at SJU, even if he didn't make it into the NBA, he could have made some very nice money overseas and he would have a college degree. I don't think Mullin was ready to deal with his nonsense though. Sad to see a kid throw his future away like this. I am hoping he will one day be able to become a productive member of society.

It seems to me that Mullin laid down what he expected from his players and the two starters didn't think they had to play by those rules. The bench kids did and they all stayed.

His brother was murdered 2 years ago. I remember he went back home for the funeral.

He tried too hard to impress the NBA. Every game he tried some crazy Michael Jordon move.
For a 5 star player, he didn't have many schools interested . The Dukes and North Carolinas saw something they didn't like.
