DePaul picks up another commitment from Tre'Darius McCallum. 6"7 forward from Indian Hills CC in Iowa. Originally from Myrtle Beach, SC. Don't know much about him. DePaul fans, what do you know about him?

From what I read only, he averaged 12 points per game; 7 rebounds per game; 40% 3-point shooter; strong body; and likes to put down thunderous dunks, which DePaul has not had in awhile.

Roughly what I heard, as well.

Undersized PF, Good defender, decent rebounder, bouncy athlete, can hit the three.

If the above is true this sounds like a very solid pickup. And he's juco so he can play immediately?

I am really, really liking the recruiting that Coach Leitao is doing. He is not killing it...ala St Johns...but he is getting the necessary pieces he needs to compete. Levi Cook, McCallum, Strus - all good players who will develop over time. The Cook-McCallum tandem has potential to become effective by mid to late January and help the 4 seniors possibly make a stretch run in the conference.

IF the seniors lead/play as seniors should...DePaul will surprise many this season.

Yup. He'll be on the team this coming season.

I'll reserve judgement until I see him in a D1 game. "Undersized PF" doesn't always translate the higher you go.

In case anyone didn't see it, Fred Scott landed at Rider.

So with all these new pick-ups, are there any scholie limit issues arising, or were there open slots for all?

Who of the remaining roster may be leaving going forward?

Well, there's talk that if they need it that Garrett could give up his scholarship since his dad works for the university.

But beyond that, let's face it... they were 9-22 last year. If they need room, they'll make room. Not saying it's right or wrong, it's just how it is.

So, you're saying someone could get... Leit-go???

I crack myself up. Glad DePaul is getting new, exciting pieces in place. As been said on here for awhile, if St. Johns (NYC) and DePaul (Chicago) and become competitive, it only dramatically helps the league.
