Fox is closing in on a deal to snag half of the Big Ten's media rights -- six-year deal for 25 football games and 50 basketball games each season, running $250m per year. That's half of the package ESPN had, and a HUGE pickup for FS1. Huge.

I wouldn't call it a huge pickup for FS1. You figure of those 25 football games, at least half will be on Big Fox. So maybe like 1 a week for FS1.... 50 basketball games sounds huge- but you figure even if it's just the 10 conference weeks, it'd be 5 games a week. Obviously there's OOC games as well, so maybe during conference season like 2-3 games a week for FS1.

Mike Tirico is leaving ESPN for NBC. Other than NFL, NHL and Notre Dame, what other yearly content does NBC really have?

NBC has soccer and equestrian. I actually watch more NBC than I do ESPN (if you don't follow college football or the NBA, you can pretty much avoid ESPN for the most part)

The PGA Tour including The British Open, The Players Championship, the last 3 events of the FedEx Cup playoffs, and the Ryder Cup.

I know that the Olympics aren't yearly but Tirico is looking at being the successor to Bob Costas as primetime host. Right now they have no college basketball or football besides Notre Dame, but they could bid on the second half of the Big Ten rights. Tirico would fit in perfectly with Big Ten football and especially Big Ten basketball.
