The thing is, a lot of times the extreme stats are the ones that hurt teams the most. Most of the times the resumes are very close... but take Syracuse who lost today. They are now 3-7 road/neutral vs the RPI top 100. The OOC schedules that the Big East teams had another one...

Are you using Syracuse's 3-7 road / neutral vs the Top 100 as something really bad? If so just an FYI UCONN is also 3-7 road / neutral vs top 100.

Tulsa is 2-6.
Cincy is 3-5
Butler is 4-5

So what's the point?

lets see what they do on Friday... if UConn can win- that would get them in almost certainly right now.... but you are right, that would be the kind of thing that could kill UConn....

man this year is shaping up as a huge year with the brackets....

You have the whole Wichita St/Ken Pom situation. Don't know that there's been a more polarizing one than them...

but then the one that I think will be extremely interesting to watch will be Syracuse. I despise this from ESPN's bubble watch today :
On Wednesday, immediately after his team's 72-71 loss ACC Tournament loss to Pittsburgh, Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim admitted he didn't know whether his team would make the field or not. But he did argue that his nine-game suspension early in the season -- during which Syracuse went 4-5 and suffered its worst loss of the season at St. John's -- should be a factor in the committee's decision. Fortunately, the committee agrees. Committee chair Joe Castiglione has been consistent on that point throughout the season, and he reiterated it on a media conference call Wednesday morning. "In Syracuse's case, we recognize you have a hall of fame coach who has assembled his team, knows his team,'' Castiglione said. "To pretend he's not a difference maker would be a mistake.''

I'm afraid they're going to let Syracuse slink their way in..... That would be a total joke.....

Well, he was there to coach them to 5 losses out of their last 6. Don't deserve a bid at all, he was out as a punishment not coaching through injury. Ridiculous.

I agree with you 100%.

The thing that gives me hope is this from an ESPN insider article:
"I'm sure they'll talk about it, but don't believe it'll get any real weight," one former committee member said. "It's unfair to assume they would have won them all, plus he was suspended, not sick, injured or anything else."

an interesting point this column made.... If Syracuse doesn't get in the tourney this year- with in a part the suspension as a reason- if when you see teams doing the self imposing a postseason ban if you see them self imposing a coaches suspension at the same time. Kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

gotta love Palm on twitter still clinging to his belief that KP isn't a part of a teams resume. I know how billyjack talks about football folks being dinosaurs but Palm is IMO even worse. It's going to be really interesting seeing how that goes for him....

btw, GREAT news for PC- they moved up to #46 in KP after today's big win. Up 8 from before the game. To me, that's GREAT news for PC.

Butler only dropped 5 to 39 which is important given how low their RPI is now.

looking at bracketology from Lunardi- looks like it was done late afternoon/early evening..
Xavier 2 MW vs Green Bay, then Notre Dame/St Bonnie's- St Louis
Seton Hall 7 S vs Oregon St, then Oklahoma/New Mexico St- Oklahoma City
Providence 7 W vs Pitt/St Mary's, then Oregon/Weber St- Spokane
Nova 1 E vs FD/Hampton, then Wichita St/St Joe's- Brooklyn
Butler 10 E vs Dayton, then Mich St/UNC Asheville- St Louis

I HOPE Notre Dame isn't a 7 seed- that would suck for Xavier to see them in rd 2....
tough ones for Seton Hall and Providence- de facto road games in the 2nd round..... not to mention PC getting a FF team in the 2nd round again, which would suck....
Butler would have a tough 2nd game as well....

LOL you're so negative about possible scenarios that most likely won't even happen.

It's the tournament. All paths will be difficult.

some are more difficult than others. You don't want to play Oklahoma period, but especially don't want to play Oklahoma in Oklahoma City. Same with PC. First off, don't want to play a FF team, but then don't want to see a real good Oregon team 2nd round....

Stever's right about this one. Wow. I actually said that. :o

But yeah, Oklahoma is an absolute match-up nightmare for Butler. We really struggle against teams with big, physical guards.
