Mack's name came up. Folks from here came on there saying they thought Mack would stay put.
I think it's really interesting. I do get that Mack is from X, and he's got them top 5 and recruiting well.
my question though is this. Does Mack view it like this is the apex that Xavier can get to? If he does, I could see him leaving Xavier quite frankly- not for the type of jobs that have been open, but for one of the 7-8 top jobs(of which Louisville is definitely one of).
It would be interesting. Hopefully he doesn't leave- but I don't think you could discount the possibility either.
I can. Mack is different from Matta and Miller. He is better paid, in a much better conference, and most importantly a Xavier product who is also from Cincinnati. He could leave some day, I suppose, but not for Louisville.
I'd be stunned if Louisville and Pitino parted ways. Mack may or may not be a candidate but I'm curious why you think the BE is a much better conference. I know we're all homers but I don't buy the whole much better than the ACC argument.

I think if he was going to stay, that would have been announced already quite frankly.

But you are usually wrong, Stever. Remember that thread we started with all of your predictions and statements of "fact" from last year - that in reality were just totally off the wall?
This thread about Chris Mack going to Louisville (a job that isn't even open) is what? Now 8 pages long. And started by Stever with probably 50% of the posts in this thread by Stever. Who allegedly is a Georgetown fan. Makes a lot of sense.....
By the way Stever, how did the AAAAC do tonight? I saw both UConn and UC lost. What a conference.

yeah losing to a team with the #10 RPI is so bad on the road. The AAC still has 4 teams in the 42-53 range of the RPI. It's not like these were upsets- they were both projected by KP.....

6th Place. In the AAC. For the 2nd year in a row.

And still has a better than 50/50 chance to make the tourney.

I'm pretty sure his dream is to take his school to the F4 and beat Louisville, Indiana, Ohio st. Not just leave X and Join them. Like all coaches he is a competitive MFkr!! Mark my words, He will stay at X for a few more years.
