Yes, but will Marquette (assuming a win over Butler) remain in the top 100 even with a 1st round BET loss?

And yes, I realize Butler's 1st BET game would against St. John's- beating them won't do anything for BU's resume which is why I'm suggesting they made need a 2nd BET win in that case (beat SHU, lose to MU) to feel completely safe.

I think Marquette absolutely would remain in the top 100 with what would be a loss to a top 50 team in PC....

And I don't think Butler would need a 2nd BET win. Basically they would be just needing to avoid the bad loss. Now, a win over Xavier in that case would be where they would avoid Dayton entirely and maybe unfortunately onto that 9 seed line.

"Butler is 3-7 against the RPI Top 50, and a fourth such victory would exceed or tie NCAA tourney locks such as No. 8 North Carolina (3-5), No. 12 Indiana (4-3), No. 14 Maryland (4-4), South Carolina (4-1) and Dayton (3-3)".

That's a huge bump. Didn't think we'd jump that much.

on what I would say is the more accurate RPI- warren Nolan which pretty much matches the NCAA- Butler is 49. Looking, yesterday the NCAA had Butler at 59, so a jump of 10.

there were about 15 teams within like .006 which is nothing, so jumps will happen big time in that group....

just saw the update thru yesterday, and Warren Nolan's ratings matched exactly the official NCAA ratings.

thing that surprised me with this is Providence. Everyone here talks about how good they are on the road- but look at the RPI difference-
Old RPI- 35
New RPI- 45

yeah 8-5 away from home, but then 4 home losses as well.... Only 18 teams in the RPI top 100 have at least 4 home losses.

actually that's messed up It says thru yesterday, but then if you look at the team sheets, they're 49.
