The refs aren't the reason why Xavier won. The refs hurt Villanova more the way they called the game, as Ochefu, Jenkins and Hart were pinned to the bench with foul trouble, sometimes on questionable calls (with the Ocheu 'elbow' obviously being the most egregious). We aren't going to beat a top-5 team on the road when 3 of our starters are on the bench for significant periods of time. But even when they were on the court, Xavier outplayed Villanova on both ends, and they also have to play smarter to not get in those situations (other than the Ochefu/Davis flop). Jenkins can't foul out as soon as he gets back on the court. That's on him.

Xavier is a great team. I'll take our chances in a rematch, though I'm concerned how easy it was for Xavier to get in the lane.

Villanova just doesn't have a guy to stop Sumner. Hopefully they don't face a guard like that in the tournament.

Villanova is a worthy adversary. This is a rivalry I can enjoy (except for taking out our point guard).

Let's do this again in New York and Houston.

slowed down the replay on Myles. It was a foul then a flop, they just reviewed it for a flagrant.

Pointing out a ridiculous call isn't saying it was the reason X won the game. Obviously, X far outplayed Nova down the stretch.

However, IMO that was a complete B.S. call. It should have been a foul on Miles, if anyone. Frankly, it should have been a no call. Were it a soccer game, Miles would have received a yellow card for flopping. Notice that the official up top who had a clear view of the positioning of Miles and Ochefu didn't call the foul. Rather, it was the official directly behind Miles with no ability to see that Miles was on top of Ochefu when Ochefu got the ball. He called the foul after Miles dropped as though hit with a Bud Crawford right cross, obviously assuming Ochefu had hit him with the elbow. He immediately heads to the monitor because he was sure there was an elbow to Miles' head. Despite the fact that from his viewpoint there is no way he could tell Ochefu's elbow was several inches away from Miles. I am almost certain, when he saw the play on the monitor, he realized he had blown the call completely. Also noted was the obvious make-up call along the sideline on the very next possession.

Even if there was a foul Myles obviously flopped. I thought there was a rule this year that a player could get a technical if caught flopping on replay? Maybe the refs were nervous about using it.

???? One poster, ONE has said something along the lines of Bridges have a better year and I'm 99.99% certain he says that just to troll. That being said, EVERY Nova fan likes Mikal Bridges A WHOLE LOT, thank you very much.

if a nova fan says something like that, no matter who it is, anyone can poke fun at it afterwards.

Sure you can make fun of the trolling poster(Novaball), but creating a disingenuous post with "you guys" implying multiple or at the very least more than one poster claimed this is overboard and can be called out afterwards as well.
