I still think PC is safe inside the field. But I was a PC fan I would be nervous. What looked like a team that could go deep in the tourney is now looking like a 1st round exit. I still believe in Providence and I hope they bounce back. It looks like Dunn was out of it tonight. He wasn't himself. But no worries right now PC is definitely in. Win atleast 1 out of the next 3 and they have no worries.

I disagree. They need 2 out of 3, and the loss better be CU. Losing to SJU, or DePaul could be fatal. Even losing one puts their rpi down to 60, and losing 2 puts it down around 70. Keep in mind that rpi has been more friendly to PC than either Kenpom, or bpi, both of which had PC in the 50s before they lost tonight. They better win all three if they don't want to be sweating on Selection Sunday.

You are correct, Providence is in deep do-do. They are 2-6 since beating Villanova, with wins only over a sinking Georgetown team. The double arrow is pointing down. What makes anyone believe they will turn this around? Would anyone bet their paycheck on Providence gong 2-1?

Dunn is leaving big money on the NBA table. He has gone from NCAA Player of the Year candidate to second best player on a sinking ship.

I can tell you that most PC fans are over being nervous. We realize this team is completely flawed, Dunn hasn't been what was expected in conference play and Cooley doesn't look like he has any answers. I doubt they make the tournament but if they do it will be a quick visit.

I think Bentil will be suspended for the DePaul game.

Edit: And no way PC is in with just 1 win out of the next three. They certainly wouldn't deserve to be either.

what did I miss? why will Bentil be suspended?

Good luck to PC the rest of the way. Anything less than 5 would be disappointing at this point

dunn is still projected as a top 5 pick.

nba scouts know he's being double teamed and triple teamed every game. with him not able to shoot over the defense he's easy to defend right now. scouts already know his shooting needs to improve but they always say shooting is easiest to fix at the next level. his other measurables however far outweighs his deficiencies. if he remains a top 5 pick then it's a no brainer that he goes.

Cooley said in post game that Dunn, Bullock and Lomomba were sick and puking in locker room. They had not practiced in three days. Hopefully they get better for Saturdays game. Dunn with only 1 rebound and no assists. No points from Bullock and Lomomba. Need to get healthy fast or its Not Invited Tournament this year.

After tonight's loss PC stands at RPI 42. Safely off the bubble

They are indeed, "safely off the bubble" tonight. Unfortunately, the season doesn't end tonight. The remaining schedule isn't hard, so if they really deserve a bid, they'll take care of business. However, because the remaining schedule is so weak, losses will be devastating to their case. Creighton's not a bad team, but a tourney team has to win that game on their home court. As for the other two, a loss is going to pull PC's plug unless they go on a run in NYC.

Pretty much right now- any loss for PC is going to ding their RPI by at least 10 spots. Even Creighton(since it's a home game). The RPI could easily be 50ish if they go 2-1 beating St Johns and DePaul- but losing to Creighton. Just looking, they could then have to beat either Creighton or Butler(or maybe Seton Hall)- to feel really comfortable heading into selection Sunday. It may take that much for them. And if they lose to Creighton and DePaul/St John's in regular season- they would almost certainly move into playing on Wed night, then having to see X or Nova on Thursday in the QF- likely needing a win there to make the tourney.

As long as PC doesn't lose to Depaul or SJU, they will be fine....

Tough game, we're in a funk, and glad to be playing at home the next two games. Just grind out a couple of wins and we'll get a bid, and then who knows.

Anyway, the story of the night is that Seton Hall just punched their ticket to the NCAA's. That's what we should be discussing here. So congrats to the Hall and their fans.
