The Big East- mainly the middle of the pack- shot itself in the foot in OOC this year. I honestly believe that Seton Hall, Butler, Creighton, and Marquette are all significantly better than their RPIs suggest. The problem is that all 4 didn't really have the chance to prove themselves in OOC play due to weak schedules, and Creighton took a terrible loss in that stretch. Unfortunately there just aren't enough Big East wins to go around to make up for those schedules and the results are dragging everyone (except Nova and X) down. I honestly believe that SHU, BU, and CU are all NCAA Tournament quality (though they certainly won't all make it) and MU shouldn't be considered a bad loss for anybody.

I totally agree. Then compounding it was Georgetown and our 5 close losses in OOC play. This should have been a year where getting 6 in was a cinch, and 7 a very real possibility. The bubble isn't good- compounded by SMU/Louisville being out- so going to #69 and 70.

100%. I didn't include Georgetown in that group because they're a little different in that they did have some good opportunities (Maryland, Duke) but had a couple inexcusable games they they just didn't show up for (I'm not gonna knock them for the Monmouth loss). That said, they're in that same group that would have a very real shot at the tourney had the league as a whole scheduled better ooc. You have to be a good basketball team to go .500 in this league.

the Pac-12 hasn't had a Final Four since 2008. The Big 12 hasn't had a Final Four since 2012... While I agree that the Big East should have a team in the F4 this year I don't think most of the criticism is fair. I think football conference fans just want to destroy the brand of the Big East. ESPN has put a lot of effort also

Idiotic.

Hey what gives? My point is X and Nova have been to the circus. (Year after Year..) They both have the talent to win a NC. Wright and Mack would agree with me. I'm not saying that'll be here bashing either team, if they don't.

If, I hear or read another "Football School fan" call our Schools "Mid-major"!!! Anyone have any good comebacks?
The saddest, was after the X win at Marquette..this year. A Marquette fan whined in front of me, to hear, "We just lost to a mid-major"

It is idiotic for anyone to compare any conference to the "old" Big East. You will never see another college basketball conference that deep and that good ever again.

Pitt, UConn, Gtown, Villanova, UC, Louisville, Syracuse, Notre Dame, Marquette, West Virgina.......come on......
