Ochefu has the ball along the baseline, Davis flops like he was hit with an elbow so Ochefu gets his 2nd foul. Upon review the refs see clearly that Davis wasn't even close to being touched, let alone elbowed. They don't give Ochefu the flagrant 1 but the call stands. Ochefu hits the bench and X comes down and scores off the "turnover."
I was under the belief that since they are reviewing the play, the intent is to "get it right." Putting Ochefu on the bench with his 2nd foul, which led to him sitting for most of the 2nd half when he picked up another 2, was a significant. I can understand with the speed of the game, a call like that can be missed. Happens all the time. But they took the time to review it. OK, maybe you don't have to guts to change the call to a "technical foul flop,' per the rule book, but give Nova the ball and take the foul off the books. No?
I will be the first to say that I think X wins either way, but it kind of sucks when they are trying to get a call right and that's the best they came up with considering how Davis manipulated the ref to get the call. I would also think that since the behavior was basically rewarded it is sending quite a message to players and coaches alike.
