USA Today has 4 Big east teams with Nova and XU both as 1 seeds. PC is an 8 and Seton Hall is a 10. Butler is the first team out of the field.

Good day so far for the Big East. Losses for Temple, LSU, Alabama, Florida. Plus Dayton only scored 14 points in the first half and is losing to SLU w/their 10-16 record.

Temple losing right now hurts the Big East. Temple still leads the AAC so would be in brackets as the auto bid team. But Tulsa is now getting more and more like a tourney team. 32 RPI and 42 in Ken Pom. They should easily get in now next brackets that we see- they're already in about half the brackets folks are doing- and if not in- probably in almost everyone's first 4 out.

Lets say this. Tulsa and Butler probably both need 3 wins to make the tourney.
Tulsa- Memphis, USF, and probably UCF in the tourney
Butler- Georgetown, Seton Hall, Marquette, someone in 1st rd of BET

I know which path I'd rather have right now.

Also- with Florida losing, that means Vandy got a big win. Like in ESPN- Vandy was the 2nd team out. So all that happened due to tonight in ESPN for instance is Alabama is out with Vandy or Tulsa getting in. Very possibly both get in with Butler knocked out. Florida was an 8 seed, so they're still going to get in. LSU is pretty much done right now...

SLU is quite possibly the worst team I have seen in years. There is literally no rhyme or reason to their offense. Jesus.

Thing is with some of these games, things really are a net neutral for the Big East... A no lose- but then again no win situation.....

Take Temple/Tulsa. Really whichever team won would be helped considerably by the game. The loser would be hurt. But would say Temple still leads the conference, and no matter what is going to be a threat for the auto bid.
Or Florida/Vandy. It sounds pretty neutral- but when you look at where the teams are, Vandy beating Florida isn't a help.

Really tonight the only game that helps the Big East is Kentucky beating Alabama. Because an Alabama win would have been pretty bad for the Big East as that would have gotten them pretty close to being a lock....

And LSU is so far out of things that all the loss does is put them out of their misery. Georgetown is now ahead of them in the RPI for instance- 89 to 90.

also depending on what part of the bracket might be if you think a game is good or not...

Take the Florida/Vanderbilt game....

I've covered the Vandy side....

But Florida losing helps teams out like Providence and maybe even Seton Hall. It's not automatically good for the entire conference, but it's not entirely bad for the entire conference either.

ESPN will keep referring to LSU as "the most intriguing bubble team".
