I agree. You obviously knew SHU-GTown would be extremely low because of Duke-UNC but even the Nova game on ESPN2 seems low. Makes our 200k games earlier this year that much more impressive.

ESPN2 numbers are always much much lower for some reason compared to ESPN It's actually weird. ESPNU are also low.

Some examples from the last couple of days.
ESPN2, Arizona State/Arizona 253, ESPNU, Oklahoma/Texas Tech 206 (Which was an excellent game) vs Duke/UNC 2,863 on ESPN last night at 9pm ET

Wow I didn't realize there was that much of a discrepancy between ESPN and ESPN2. It's at least nice to see we're similar/ahead of the ESPNU ratings.

I think a really important thing for ratings is having ranked teams. Everyone likes to say how little rankings mean or that they only matter at the end of the season, but to make sure our games are on the best TV's at sports bars and people will seek out our matchups the league needs as many games between ranked teams as possible.

It is funny. Ranking don't matter for seeding or to crown a champion, but to get your game talked about or on a highlight show it does. So, ranking matter for all the wrong reason.
