Which team(s) will become the new villain?

Its almost like the johnnies fans view good teams as villain

In the old big east, I viewed the villains as:
UConn - bigtime scumbag program. Cheaters and criminals galore
Rutgers - A complete waste of time for everyone.
Cincy - the "Temple of the Midwest." Ouch!

I didn't view Syracuse or Louisville or Georgetown or Marquette as villains despite their success.

Haha nice job of finding a way to troll Johnnies fans. Think you're taking term villains too literally. It's teams you despise and really want to beat. Usually that's in part because they're good. A villain can be a complimentary term.

Johnnies beat Rutgers this year but nobody cares because Rutgers always sucks.

BTW NovaBall, we're #1 in recruiting. Can't wait until we surpass Nova and Johnnies are the villains.

Can't speak for others but I have been very aware of the Xavier basketball program and the location over the years. Probably helped that PC hired Pete Gillen while I was in school. But I think that any basketball fan was familiar with Xavier.

It would've been hard to view us as villains because we were 8 years of either 3 very like able stars or 4 years of D1 rejects that played their a$$es off to be consistently one of the best teams in the big east.

I reassure you you are the exception rather than the rule. I went to the last 2 BET and many of east coast fans, with whom I interacted, didn't know much about Xavier. I spoke to several Cuse and UConn fans( who attended but were no longer in the BE) and they thought Xavier was in Chicago. I do know name recognition won't happen overnight.

What's wrong with Cuse fans from the old big east? I have a bunch of friends who are Cuse fans and I generally liked talking hoops with them.
