Tuesday night we had a couple of awesome games.

Wednesday:
7pm, DePaul at Butler. CBS-SN.
7pm, St John's at Seton Hall. FS1.
9pm, Stetson at Marquette. FS1.

Pretty big games for Butler, Seton Hall and Marquette...
DePaul is coming off a win at Marquette.
Seton Hall starts a 3 game stretch of winnable games.
Butler has 3 of their next 4 vs the bottom 3, so will look to add some wins.
St John's lost a tight one at home to Marquette last time out.
Marquette faces the Hatters in the second-to-last regular season non-conf game for the Big East.

Ugh stetson?! I've known about the game, but still so frustrating. Marquette's schedule really hurting them and the rest of the big east. Marquette is a quality team but they don't appear like one on paper thanks to their horrible schedule. They look like a bad loss instead of a quality win because they scheduled as many 200+ RPI teams that they could find.

That Nova/Temple game in 3 weeks could be big- Temple just beat SMU and they could be in the top 50 when they play- giving Nova a chance for a pretty good road win in their quest for a #1 seed.

This is way ahead of schedule, but does anyone know if Marquette has a similarly awful schedule next year? This isn't going to be a Wojo staple is it?

Just looking at our favorite future schedule site: http://whiteandbluereview.com/future-bi ... schedules/

Marquette doesn't have much listed. They have the 2K sports classic with SMU, Pitt, and Michigan. Home game with Wisconsin. but that's it. That would be only 5 games- 6 if they're in the Gavitt games.

Have to remember 2 years ago they had a bad OOC schedule as well- 7 of their 8 OOC wins were 200+. Last year was pretty poor as well.

It's the start of a big stretch for Seton Hall and if they keep doing what they've been doing, their record will start to reflect how well they're playing. 3-4 isn't impressive, but they've already played road games against all 3 of the league's top 10 teams (4 total games against them) and managed to win one. They were competitive in the other 3 including taking Nova to the wire in the one home game. Sure the results of the 4 losses were disappointing, but the only performance that was truly disappointing was in the loss to Creighton.

And this is coming from a Georgetown fan? That's rich, given that Georgetown had about the worst OOC performance in our league. Until Georgetown beat Xavier and their RPI jumped like 30 spots, they were considered a bad loss as well.

I'd rather Marquette play a shitty OOC and win their games than Georgetown losing their OOC games including to the likes of UNC Ashville, Monmouth and Radford... Oh, and UConn

Georgetown OOC RPI 132
Marquette OOC RPI 118 before tonight. RPI Forecast has it projected after tonight at 130.

So Marquette despite being 4 games better will have the exact same RPI OOC as Georgetown.

Also Georgetown wasn't considered a bad loss pretty much ever. Even if Georgetown had lost to Xavier, we would have been in the top 100. A top 20 SOS does that you know....

Marquette needs to win 7 games the rest of the season to get into the top 100 RPI. Georgetown needs to win 2 games the rest of the way to get into the top 100 RPI. Think I know which one is much more likely to happen- and which one is going to be considered end of the year as a bad loss.
